The 2004 Club Championship consists of 26 races for the Ladies and 25 for the Men. These races are selected by the Club Championship Secretary and approved by the committee. The races selected try to create a wide range of competition amongst club members, over a variety of distance and terrain. Any opinion from club members about these races or potential additions/amendments to the Championship are more than welcome, please see Gary Caunter.
Points in these races are awarded on an Age-graded basis with 50 for 1st, 49 for 2nd, 48 for 3rd and so on. In addition this year it has been agreed that an additional 3 points will be awarded for each Club Championship race ran. Therefore a runner doing his minimum 10 events will receive an additional 30 points, however as an incentive to compete in the Championship, and promote the club vest a runner competing in 15 races would be awarded an additional 45 points.
There are separate Championships for Men and Ladies, with prizes being awarded to the top 10 Men and the top 5 Ladies on an age-graded basis. In order to qualify for the Championship you must have completed a minimum of 10 of these races in the year.
