Trotters spread around the country


On Sunday 29th August saw 5 Trotters and 1 Trottette run the Battle of Sedgemoor 10km ,run by the Langport Runners .It was a hilly course with the wind adding to the undulation for the 450 runners .Daryl "Tarquin" Milford lead them home in 18th place with a swift 37 minutes .Then the Royal Blues came in as follows- Bruce Campbell 42.30,Roger Hayes 46.46,Graeme Baker 47.46,Sidney Willocks 48.10 and lone lady Trottette Caroline Hayes in 53.07


This weekend saw a few lone Trotters taking part in races around Britain and Ireland .On Saturday 4th September Sally Ingledew partook in yet another marathon .This time she found herself in Dingle In Ireland and ran the very pretty "Dingle Marathon" in rather hot conditions .Her time was 4.54.


Up in Wolverhampton Roger "chairman" Hayes ran 3.23.56 in the Marathon on Sunday 5th September .The course was fast, flat and 2 laps. It was wet and windy.


Also on Sunday but a little closer to home , Mark Wotton ran the Treggy 7 that finished in Launceston castle in Cornwall .The rain fell here too but the sun appeared half way through the course. Mark did 54.09 and was 123/324 runners.


In Bristol on Sunday the Bristol half marathon was staged .This is a big city event attracting 10262 runners this year. Although it was raining and windy in parts it was ideal for running .Craig Churchill ran his fastest half to date with a time of 1.42.50 and 1877 overall .Rebecca Weare 2.10.13 and 7132 overall.


Also another city half marathon in Glasgow took place on Sunday with 9000 runners amongst them was lone Trotter Graeme Baker. The course was hilly and windy but the temperature was hot. He was 2725th and 5th over 65 year old with a time of 1.51.30.
