44 trotters take on the first "Brunel 5km time trial" ................................

On Wednesday evening 16th October, 44 trotters made their way to Brunel Industrial Estate to compete in the first “Brunel 5km time trial”.

This came about due to the cancellation of the “Churston Flyer” in the short miscellaneous section of the club championship. Some members gave up their time to marshal the event and others took the times and placing’s at the finish.

The course was measured to include two large laps of the industrial estate (nicknamed Brunel area by some trotters) and one small lap. It was well lit and some fast times were achieved with all member’s wearing their club vest and fluorescent bibs. The weather was a little humid but dry. Hopefully these times will be a bench mark for newer members who don’t race very often and are new to speed work. It’s hoped that this event can take place again following the feedback from the runners.
