On a very wet and windy Sunday 26th January, 20 Teignbridge Trotters took the drive to North Devon to run the “Braunton 10” ,  a tough 10 mile race run by North Devon Road Runners. It took the 267 runners on a very undulating course and at the six mile point ran them along the top of some hills right into a head wind and driving rain. One of the lanes was also flooded full of very cold water.

Teignbridge Totters Helen Anthony and Keith Anderson travelled to Dunkeswell, near Honiton on Saturday 25th January to join 150 other runners in the 16 mile “Blackdown Beast” Run, organised by Honiton Running Club. This non-competitive event was mainly off-road in very muddy conditions, and even involved negotiating a surly-looking bull with his harem of heifers. Funds raised through the entry fees were donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. The route involved four legs, with a welcome break after the first 8 miles for mulled cider and pasty provided by the ladies of the local WI. Helen and Keith finished together with fellow runner Mandy Wheeler in 3hr 16min, who runs for South West Road Runners, and agreed it was a challenging yet hugely rewarding event.(thanks Keith)
