Mark Wotton and Allen Taylor travelled up to the new forest to take on the “Heartbreaker Marathon” up in the New Forest .It was mainly off-road with just a bit of tarmac to start and finish with. The undulating course was based from Sandy Balls Holiday Park, Godshill near Fordingbridge. The run routes were predominantly on well-maintained gravel tracks, all clearly marked and marshalled and it made for a T-shaped course, using out-and-back loops so you can keep an eye on the opposition and give encouragement!
Allen produced a strong 40th place in 3.44.11 while Mark completed in 4.33.50and 112th.164 runners completed the marathon. There was a half marathon available too.
