Twenty-one Teignbridge Trotters took part in the Newton Abbot Ladies 10K on Sunday (14/9), proving once again that the club's ladies are a force to be reckoned with. The race, which is organised by the Trotters, is a challenging, hilly course in the lanes around Ogwell and Denbury. It always produces an enjoyable run for participants of all abilities.

Eyvoll Aston was the first Royal Blue across the line, finishing in 6th place overall with a time of 45.08. Clare Youngman was next, just a few seconds behind, in 45.15. She also scooped 1st place in the the FV40 category. Gia D'Aprano's 45.01 gained her second place in the FV50 category. Pauline Newsholme (1.16.37) won the FV65 category.

The combined efforts of Eyvoll, Clare and Gia won them a well-earned 2nd place in the team competition. New member Sarah Ross made a great start, crossing the line in 1.01.23. Also running were: Cathy Burgess (49.37), Stephanie Ross (50.14), Julia Proctor (50.37), Sally Mutton (52.31), Jeanette Howard (53.08), Tina Caunter (53.16), Sarah Ingham (54.31),

Also on Sunday, Mark Hamling and Sharon Bowman completed the Bristol Half-Marathon. They joined thousands of other runners on the city's streets amid unexpectedly warm conditions. Mark finished in 1.37.45 and Sharon ran home in 1.51.53.

Eleanor Taylor and new member James Henderson represented the Trotters at the Ivybridge Beacon Challenge on Sunday. James completed the multi-terrain course of around 7.5 miles in 1.19.08, finishing 59th out of 122 runners. Eleanor finished in a creditable 1.25.28.
