Another successful race for the trotters..........................

The main event this weekend was the Teignbridge Trotter race the  “Templer 10” which took place on Sunday 6th November at 10am.Starting at the Passage house Inn at kingsteignton and taking the 242 runners out along the river bank of Teigngrace and then onto Stover park and back to the Passage House .The recent rain made the going very good considering and many trotters were out marshalling along the way giving encouragement to all who ran it.The race was closely fought right to the line with Peter Monaghan pipping Lee Turner at the finishing post by one second in 53.43 and Lee 53.44!

Nine trotters took part with Travis Wood bringing them home in his first race as a trotter 1.05.33 and 22nd place, Allen Taylor another new face 1.08.54 39th ,Rob Cowling in his second race this year as a trotter did 1.12.28 70th .Anna Caunter brought the trottettes home in 1.15.16 88th followed by Katrina Duignan in 1.21.52 138th.Kirsty Chrysanthou was 155th in 1.24.40 with Guy Roberts on her tail in 1.24.41 156th.Derek Blackford did 1.27.44 176th and Sarah Ross did 1.34.04.


Craig Churchill and Chris Rogers took themselves off to do the “Plymouth 10km” on Sunday 6th November.It was a good fast, flat course starting in the city centre on Royal Parade, down around Derry’s Cross, back up Royal Parade then out of the city centre along the Embankment, before returning to the finish at Royal Parade.1002 runners took part with Craig finishing in 47:47 (242nd) and Chris posting a new PB of 50:54 (370th).(thanks Chris)


Graham Penn was at the “Yarcombe Yomp” in East Devon on Saturday 5th November which was
a 10 mile, two lap and cross country course held in almost perfect weather although the ground under foot was a little sticky in patches.It started and finished at the Village hall which provided free refreshments to the runners after the race. He finished 39th out of the small field of 60 runners, in a time of 1:38:06.(thanks Graham)

Down in Newquay the “Westwood country league” took place with Julie and John Crocker,Caroline Clark and Lance Mason flying the flag for the trotters down there.The mens was 9560m in length and the ladies 5820m.It was a tough course with 67 in the ladies with Caroline doing 30.57 and 57th and Julie 34.58 and 63rd.Lance did 37.52 gaining 43rd place out of 133 and John did 45.30 and 114th.
