Boxing day mayhem for the trotters at the 3 legged race .................

Once again the Teignbridge trotters gave a good show at the Annual "3 legged race" at Shaldon. The fun event is supported by the local pubs where each couple are asked to drink a half pint of beer (or squash) in each of the watering holes while tied together in pairs around their ankles.Starting at the London Inn and working their way up to the “Ness” then back down to the “Ferry boat Inn”, along to “The Clifford” and then the Conservative club to end up after a lap of the green at  the “London Inn”. Tarquin and Monkey started right up the front of the pack determined to retain the trophy they won last year. They did so in style but Steph(as a bag lady!) and Watsa(gay biker!) were hot on their tails and came in 2nd place. Chairman running in his school uniform with a friend of his was chased around by his wife Caroline and Jan Caunter dressed as police women!Skins(footballer?) and Sarah Seymour enjoyed the fun too. Anna Caunter turned up with her partner as “super Teds!” Fizz and Tommo had their finery on from the 1920s while Jimmy and Tweeds became the “blues brothers”. Sarah and Bill Frost had put plenty of work into their costume as Rupert and Bill Badger and managed to run in over sized heads!Suzy Ashleigh-Thomas was also spotted from the trotters. Plenty of other revellers were doing the event from a walking tent to nuns, Christmas presents, tea bags (winners of the fancy dress) and cavemen. It is always a spectacle and has fantastic crowd support all the way around. The weather was perfect and plenty of fun and laughter was had by all.
