CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP
These awards are given out to men and ladies completing the club championship which is a series of races in six different categories. One in each must be completed and the other six from which ever ones you want to choose. The categories are half marathons, 10km, cross country, long off road, short miscellaneous, short off road and mixed and each has specific races to do in it. This makes a total of twelve races to complete. The scores are done on an age graded percentage. This year saw an amazing eleven trottettes completing while only ten men did.

After the official awards the “Horses’ Arse”- a very converted award presented by John “skins” Skinner, was given out to Mark “Wurzel”Wotton. It is basically for the most stupid thing done during running! Mark seemed to keep the reason a bit of a secret!!!!

Everyone was then treated to a wonderful buffet produced by our own “catering Queen” Tina Caunter and John her husband. Also a superb draw organised by Dave Dunn was a high-light with some brillant prizes on offer. The homemade feast went down a treat too and was then followed by a disco where the “Athletic” Trotters danced until the evening drew to a close at midnight!

It just takes for me to say a FANTASTIC WELL DONE to all the prize winners and to every single trotter who makes us the BEST running club around!ON ON and have a happy and healthy Christmas and strong racing in 2012

Keep your race reports coming in to either myself or Rod Payne so we can continue to write our piece each week and submit it to both the Mid Devon Advertiser and the Herald Express. We would like to thank them for their continued support.
