More PBs at the Sandygate Loop........

The 4th Sandygate Loop of the year, out of the series of seven, took place last Friday, and despite the low turn out there were some excellent performances, with a clutch of PBs.

With two club championship races during the weekend and the opening ceremony of the Olympics, it was no surprise that only 14 Trotters took on the challenge of the Sandygate Loop.

New member Matt McGrath set the early pace and was closely followed by super vet, Jacki Woon. These two blazed the trail over the 4-mile course, which was run in an anti clockwise direction. Matt crossed the line in a time of 27:31 knocking over ¾ of a minute off his previous best time. Not to be out done, Jacki also set a new PB with an excellent time of 28:07.

Two other Trotters managed to achieve PBs, they were Neil Pallant 29:19 and Keith Anderson 32:56. Both of whom could well be in the mix for the most improved Trotter come the end of the year (that's a tenner you owe me Neil).

Making their debuts on the Loop were Beverley Dennis who crossed the line in 34:47, Guy Roberts 36:11 and Jo Billyard who finished strongly in a time of 37:23.

The next race is on Friday 31st August.

See you there!
