Quiet Jubilee for the Royal blues................

The jubilee weekend saw many trotters taking it easy with major tapering for the forthcoming Dartmoor Discovery next Saturday 9th June starting at Prince town and taking them on a 32 mile run around the moors.

A handful of trotters supported the “Plymouth Half Marathon” ran from Plymouth Hoe taking in an undulating course through Saltram house and around the town back to a tough climb back to the Hoe. The weather was ideal with a little light drizzle and great crowd support with 3839 finishers.

Mark Hamling was first trotter across the line in 1.38.31 and was 399th.Next Neil Pallant charged across the line showing no strains in his legs since his marathon a few weeks ago with 1.45.12 and 805th.Camilla McHugh had a strong race in 1.50.22 and 1155th while Kevin Besford beat his time last year by over  seven minutes with 1.53.59 and 1430th.Angela Blakesley ran a good race in 2.00.41 and was 1946th.Chris Rogers in his first marathon just missed his sub 2 hour with 2.02.31 and 2076th and Derek Blackford completed in in 2.12.02 and 2633rd and Rebecca Weare completed the team in 2.12.40 and 2674th.

Lance Mason took himself up to Peter Tavy as lone trotter to compete in the “Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee” trail race. The course started at Peter Tavy Inn and was half off road and included a steep hill up to Langstone on the moor and then back again. It was Just under 6 miles and he came 4th overall 39.18.

Up in Chagford ,lone trotter Geoff Davey ran the "Chagford 2 hills challenge" on Jubilee monday. He was 9th overall in a strong time of 31.59.Owning a local business in the area he was 2nd local resident and with his daughter Lauren, upstaging him in the fun run for under 5s by coming 2nd!

It just leaves me to say "Good luck "to all taking part next week in the Dartmoor Discovery and also to all the Trotters organising it and all the folk giving up their time to marshall and help in any way!!  on on !
