Allen storms his 50km before he reaches his 40th .........

The fourth round of the “Run Exe summer 5km series” took place last Tuesday, 6th August. Six trotters took part to make up the 106 runners in this month’s event. Daryl “Tarquin” Milford brought them home in 17.13 and was 10th while Craig Churchill did a consistent time of 19.15 and was 42nd.Keith Anderson was 86th in 24.34,Tamsin Cook 93rd in 25.13,Tina Caunter just behind her in 95th in 25.46 and Jo Billyard produced 26.54 and was 100th.

On Sunday 11th August an over cast day saw 3 trotter men take on the “Salisbury 54321” events. The run was a mixture of terrains on an undulating hilly but scenic route. It took on farm tracks, fields, woods and bridleways as well as country estates, castles and the Salisbury cathedral. The conditions warmed up and it made it more of a struggle for the runners.

Allen Taylor took part in the 50km event which had 159 competitors and astounded himself by knocking 49 minutes off last years’ time producing a fantastic 4.01.56 and 4th overall and 2nd vet 35.This will be his last race in this category as he enters a new vet status in the coming weeks!

Rob Cooper enjoyed the course and took on the 30km event and posted 3.13.43 and was 81st and 9th in his vet 35 age category. He should of ran 19 miles but managed to get lost and complete 22 instead! 142 runners completed this distance.

Meanwhile Phil *latte* Perry did the 42km event in 4.37 and was 60th out of 187 runners and 10th in his age category.

Over on the Isle of Man, marathon Queen Sally Ingledew took on the “Micro gaming Isle of Man Marathon”. This also included a half marathon and the marathon had 105 entries. Sally did a time of 4.29.49 in 70th place and also was 1st in her age group.
