More mud and hills for the Trotters in Axmouth.......

The sun shone as 22 Trotters travelled to Axmouth, near Seaton to take part in the ‘Axmouth Challenge’ run by Axe Valley Runners and Axmouth village hall management committee. The course was very challenging with an uphill start and some rather slippery stiles and fields to run through. There were many testing hills, one of which had a very welcomed water stop at the top. Some of the tracks had rather large muddy puddles to run through and the rest of the route was along quiet country lanes, making it just less than ten miles in total. 113 runners completed the course.

Bringing the Trotters home in 5th place overall in 1:04:13 was Daryl Milford, followed closely by Lance Mason in 7th place, in 1:06:36, picking up 1st vet 50, while Roger Hayes completed in 1:11:04, and 19th, his first race in a very long time.
Helen Anthony was the first Trotter lady home, in 1:11:44 (21st), followed by Craig Churchill in 1:13:06 (24th) and Gary Watson did 1:17:42 (34th). Jacki Woon finished in 1:18:09 (36th) picking up ladies 1st vet 50 and Eyvoll Aston in her first race since the ladies 10km in September 2013 completed in  1:18:11 (37th) and picking up 1st vet 40.
