Pete Hayward makes GB team selection for Ironman 70.3...

On Saturday 14th June, Pete Hayward competed in an Ironman 70.3 event; the Cotswold Middle Distance event at Cirencester.

The event consisted of a 1.9K swim, a 54-mile bike ride and a half marathon run.  Pete's overall finish time was 5hrs 07minutes giving him 288th place out of 700 competitors and 5th in age-group.

Pete's swim time of 28mins was 35th overall and he managed an average speed on the bike of 21mph.  He then finished the event with a sub-2hr half marathon which was mainly off road.

This was a personal best by 15 minutes and confirms GB team selection for Majorca in October for the European Middle Distance Championships.  Pete is planning on attending this for hopefully his 6th GB cap.
