Luckily it wasn’t raining, although as there was bad weather the night before it was wet underfoot in places. The route is recognised as being a tough one – especially the climb between miles 24 and 25.

Trotter results are: Martin Randall (113, 3:49:30), Roger Hales (131, 3:54:14), Matthew Dunn (144, 3:57:18), Allen Taylor (145, 3:57:49), Lance Mason (145, 3:57:49), Paul Sharples (203, 4:13:46), David Dunn (209, 4:15:16), Neil Pallant (246, 4:25:19), Kevin Sampson (247, 4:25:19) and Dermot Smyth (275, 4:30:45). On 6th November, Richard Keatley travelled up to Surrey and did the Thames Meander Marathon. The route goes on a 13 miles out-and-back course by Kingston-on-Thames and Richard had a thoroughly enjoyable run, although it was bid windy on occasion. Richard claimed his medal, which was of a MK1 Hurricane, and finished in a time of 4:24.
