What is the route?
The race starts in Princetown, and follows a route passing through Dartmeet, Poundsgate, Newbridge, Ashburton, Buckland in the Moor, Widecombe in the Moor, and Postbridge, before making its way back to finish in Princetown.
You'll experience everything Dartmoor can offer, from stunning views, beautiful scenery, wild ponies, unpredictable weather and of course those infamous hills! Make no mistake, the course is not easy, it's a great way to test you both mentally and physically!

Is there a race limit?
The race has a strict entry limit of 225. This is due to many of the narrow country lanes that you will run through.
Can I get a refund if I enter and cannot run?
Entry fees are non refundable, however they are transferable, incurring a small admin charge of £3.00. All number swaps must be agreed in advance by the Race Director, whose ultimate decision is final. Please see the drop down menu for the reserve list and transfer form.
Is the course suitable for wheelchairs?
Sorry but the course is unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Can I wear my IPOD?
The use of IPod's/MP3 players is not allowed (for obvious reasons!) anyone found wearing them is likely to be disqualified from the race.
What support is there on course?
St John's Ambulance will be in attendance and will be working alongside the Dartmoor Radio Club. There will be 10 feeding stations on the course, 9 of which will allow you to deposit your own personal drinks prior to the start of the race.
Is there a race cut off?
The race has a cut off time of 6½ hours, this equates to an average of 12 minute miling pace. There will be 3 check points on the course, each carrying it's own cut off time, they are as follows;
13 miles (Ashburton) 2 hrs 40 minutes
20 miles (Ruddlestone Inn) 4 hrs
26.2 miles (Marathon) 5 hrs 15 minutes
Runners failing to make any of these check points in the time allowed will be asked to withdraw from the race. Transport will be provided back to the start/finish. Anyone choosing to continue will be treated as a pedestrian. Marshals, feeding stations and medical cover will no longer be present.
Sorry if this seems a little harsh, but we have to draw the line somewhere. Many of our club members will have been on the go long before the start of the race, and it is a lot to ask of them to be out on the moors marshalling for anything longer than 6½ hrs, in what can be, even in June, atrocious weather conditions.
What happens once I have entered?
All entrants will receive a colour magazine, packed full of useful race information, interesting features and articles. This will be sent out during January.
Will my information be passed to any other organisation?
All the information we hold obtained from you, will be for the sole use of the race. We will not pass any of it onto a third party.
Is there accommodation?
