Start of the 2024 race
In 2024 we increased the cut-off times by 15 minutes (we're good to you!)
13.1 miles = 2:53; 20 miles = 4:15 and 26.2 miles = 5:30
Race HQ is at Princetown Community Centre. Registration will take place on Saturday morning from 7am to 8.45am in the main hall at the Community Centre. We are no longer able to offer camping/motorhome pitches nor will we be hosting the Friday Night Pasta Party. However, we'll still be having the bar and legendary Saturday night disco in the usual place!
The Plume of Feathers Public House (next to the start line) offer camping/motorhome pitches (see below).
We have secured the usual motorhome pitches at the Community Centre for next year's DD! The area is owned by the Princetown Youth Club and they have, once again, very kindly allowed us to use their land for that weekend. You can book in the usual way at PCC Motorhome pitches (This is for motorhomes only; as previously advised, we are not able to offer camping pitches or the Pasta Party)
Car parking will still be available in the playground of Princetown Primary School.
The Dartmoor Discovery, or DD as it's affectionately known, is the UK's longest single lap road ultra marathon. Take a look at the course map HERE
It has gained somewhat of a cult status on the running circuit and is one of those races that runners have to have on their CV.
The race starts and finishes in Princetown. The 32-mile 899 yard course takes you up and down some of the toughest hills that Dartmoor has to offer. There are 10 feeding stations on route, nine of which you can leave your own personal drinks at. A bespoke quality DD medal awaits anyone crossing the finish line in under the 6 3/4 hour cut off time.
Please note that headphones are not permitted and anyone caught wearing them during the race will be disqualified!
