The Chudleigh road race took place on a warm Friday night, the popular classic undulating local race attracts a mix of fun runners and serious racers. This year City Runs sold out the event before race day which is a great achievement. The race starts outside the church, heading up and down the high street before the infamous mile ish hill before a flat country lane with super views. It then winds down through the lanes to the cricket club, before a brief up to the high street. The final lung busting 500m back down the high street and past supporters outside the pubs is slightly downhill in places. A total of 166 runners finished the race, which is a decent turnout.

Representing the Trotters, Steve Weeks was 41st, in 40:05, Chloe Weeks 42nd, in 40:08, and Eamon Crowe 120th in 51:55.

This week local races include the Kingsbridge 10K, Thursday night as part of the Fair Week, and Cornwood 10K on Saturday night, both have a few gentle undulations in them but are well worth the effort. Kingsbridge you can normally enter on the night, maybe see you there. Usually a nice free t shirt.
