Another week and more Trotters pushing themselves further taking on Marathons in Dorset for the Club Championship, Milton Keynes, and in Wales. It would be helpful if more Trotters could communicate what they are taking part in, helping inspire others in the Club, otherwise the press report will cease to happen.

Derek took on the 30 mile challenge of the HEARTLANDS of WALES and the source of the River Severn. An ultra marathon designed to discover everything mid Wales has to offer. Starting from the town of Llanidloes, the route takes in the Sarn, Glyndwr's Way, Severn Way and Wye Valley Walk. Heading out towards the breath taking Clywedog Reservoir, stepping on to the infamous Glyndwr's Way, then onwards to the HEARTLANDS of WALES and the source of the River Severn before heading back to the picturesque town of Llanidloes.

"With 4,514 ft of elevation that was one tough route but stunningly beautiful for my 99th marathon. The warm weather was perfect with a cool breeze and very well organised by Pegasus. Strava time 6hrs 42minutes.

Celebrated with a few local beers in Llanidloes in the evening.

Pete Kirby ran the Milton Keynes Marathon on Monday 5th May. The race starts & finishes at the Stadium MK and passes through five villages, country lanes, numerous cycle paths and picturesque scenery. Conditions were cool and blustery but good for marathon running. Pete successfully completed the course in 4.36.30 and was 1st MV 75-79. He was pleased with his run and especially as he finished eight and a half minutes inside the new marathon qualifying time for the England 75-79 Age Group Team. Pete described the MK Marathon as "very well organised, with excellent marshals and loud community support on the course."

The latest Club Championship race was the North Dorset Village Marathon, Lucy Evans reported "The race was well organised and friendly marshals, good support for along the route. This being my first marathon in a while, I'm very pleased with my time of 4:05:03 fasted marathon since early 2019 - pre covid and knock off over an hour from last year's London Marathon. I'm really excited to see what I can achieve at Dartmoor Discovery next month.

Andy Gillson reported "North Dorset marathon was probably the nicest running route I’ve done in a long time. Undulating but not too hilly and lovely quiet country lanes. Personally felt good for first 9 miles but then my niggly calf injury kicked in and I struggled on to the end. Still finished under 4 hours which was my aim so not a complete disaster. Fantastic low key marathon and very well organised. Would definitely recommend.

The results included; James Long 25th 3:05:33, Jason Trevenen 57th 3:34:52, Andrew Rattlidge 75th 3:55:07, Andy Gillson 82nd 3:58:03, Kathryn Steemson 88th 4:02:07, Lucy Evans 92nd 4:05:03, Ewan Walton 108th 4:11:29, 113th Joanna Randall 4:18:13, Corinne Bright 136th 4:37:59, Eamon Crowe 155th 5:04:23, 164th Sarah Blanchard 5:35:07

Going back to short distances, the latest Run Exe 5k took place on the 6th. Chloe reported " It was great conditions - not too hot but a slight headwind along the bottom. It was Dad and I’s first race since Manchester Marathon (8 days ago) so we were both pleased with our results. It was great to see so many fast runners out there tonight.

Results are as follows: Donald Brooks 16:13, Steve Weeks 20:23, Chloe Weeks 20:39, Craig Churchill 23:14
