Trotters took part in Exeter's Half marathon in showery conditions on tarmac which was helpful given the recent weather, Ben Thorn and Rachel Harrison and Mike Border came away with PBs!
Ben: 1:26:13.7 (19min PB), with Rachel:1:48:5.8 (8min PB), Mike Border 1:42:29 (2.5 minute PB), Mike commented "The course was different to previous years due to severe flooding on the normal routes so this was 3x 7k laps from Haven banks to Countess Wear road crossing area. The 3 laps made it a real challenge but i'm thrilled with how it went, A wonderful day of running for us."
Shaz & Paul Sharples and Sue Tremlett ran the Portland Half Marathon. Shaz reported "Sue completed 3 half's and the marathon ( 2 loops) 3 times, well done. Run by bustinskin events and starting / finishing at the British sailing academy base on Portland near Weymouth.
Shaz & Paul did it for the sole reason of completing the SWCP and that's now done. (A massive 730 mile achievement) Sue did 2.53 we did 3.35.
Basic principle ‘keep the sea on your left and the land on your right’ for loop! with Mud, hills, more thick mud and an very nasty slippy hill!
The route follows the Portland section of the South West Coastal Path. The path is marked on fingerpost signs by an Acorn symbol and is a well trodden track for the majority of the way.
We both took tumbles! Too old to be rolling around on the hard ground! even for the great medal and buff memento.
