The Trotters enjoyed a successful evening at the South Devon Relays, held at the Torbay Velopark in Paignton. The popular event attracted clubs from across the South West, with teams of four runners each completing a fast 3km relay leg around the closed circuit course.

The men's quartet of Alex Duff (9:36), Benj Akyol (9:39), Ben Elphick (10:32) and Donald Brooks (9:35) combined for an impressive overall time of 39:22. The women's team of Chloe Weeks (10:44), Mel Brooks (11:11), Helen Anthony (11:14) and Chloe Olford (10:28) also claimed runners-up spot with a total time of 43:37.

The M60 team of Alan Kember (12:23), Eric Moore (14:09), Kevin Besford (15:52) and Derek Skinner (13:20) finished in 55:44, and the M40 team of Adam Doherty (14:50), Neil Tampkins (14:45), Bruce Campbell (13:42) and Pete Aston (15:20) recorded 58:37.

The club's other women's teams also performed strongly. In the F40 category, Michelle Doherty (16:02), Katie Gibbs (15:17), Claire Lyons (14:19) and Jo Randall (13:10) recorded 58:48. A second FV50 team of Lucy Evans (13:30), Claire Youngman (14:38), Corinne Bright (14:29) and Kim Knight (13:33) finished in 56:10.

Warm conditions made for challenging racing, but there was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the evening, with plenty of support and encouragement from teammates and spectators. The relay format created an exciting spectacle, allowing runners to follow the action and cheer each other on around the course. With 71 teams taking part, it was another successful and enjoyable evening for the Trotters, highlighted by two overall runner-up finishes and victories in both the FV50 and FV60 categories.
