The David Cliff Wokingham Half Marathon may not feature on the usual Teignbridge Trotters calendar, but this Berkshire event is known for its fast, flat course. Starting and finishing in Cantley Park, it winds through Wokingham town centre before heading onto rural roads built for speed. Since 1984, it has produced standout performances, including a world best V65F in 2023 and a UK F50 record in 2024.
This year delivered ideal racing conditions, with cool temperatures around 10°C and the chance of light, patchy rain.
Running as part of his London Marathon training, Will Hassell used the race as both a test and confidence boost. It paid off brilliantly. Will smashed his previous half marathon PB of 1:36:58, crossing the line in 1:29:58—a huge seven‑minute improvement and his first time breaking the sub‑90 barrier.
Congratulations to Will—London is looking very promising!
