Trotters take to Exeter 5km series........

The first race of the" Great West warm up series" was on Sunday 30th January and attracted 65 runners.3 trotters went along and had good runs. It was a multi lap course along the river Exe and Flood relief system. The running conditions were perfect and it was all traffic free.
Craig Churchill came in 24th in 21.23 closely followed by Richard Varley who did a PB in 21.50. Wearing his trotter vest for the 1st time, Chris Rogers ran the course in fine style finishing 46th in a respectable time of 26.06.

Further up the country,Ben Epps flew the Trotters royal blue in the rescheduled "Torrington Caper" on Sunday, this being a tough, hilly 10-mile multi terrain race on lanes and bridal paths around Torrington, also taking in some sections of the Tarka Trail and surrounding woodland. The conditions were cold and icy with a section of flooded bridle path after 2 miles being particularly difficult. In addition there was a river crossing and a tough hill at the end. He managed to have a really good race, finishing 11th out of 75 in 1h 21. Ben has been taking out the newly started 10 miler group on a Monday evening and by the looks of this race it is certainly showing his promise and that the training is paying off.
