Katrina Zaple ran the fourth “Cornwall and Rescue Service Half marathon” at Lanhydrock House near Bodmin. The course was multi terrain around the surrounding area and very hilly. She completed in 2.38.12 and 292nd out of 297 runners. Her aim was to run around with her friend Sarah Ross on her first half marathon. She use to be in the Trotters until she up rooted and went to Cornwall. They crossed the line together.

Mark Wotton and Allen Taylor travelled up to the new forest to take on the “Heartbreaker Marathon” up in the New Forest .It was mainly off-road with just a bit of tarmac to start and finish with. The undulating course was based from Sandy Balls Holiday Park, Godshill near Fordingbridge. The run routes were predominantly on well-maintained gravel tracks, all clearly marked and marshalled and it made for a T-shaped course, using out-and-back loops so you can keep an eye on the opposition and give encouragement!
Allen produced a strong 40th place in 3.44.11 while Mark completed in 4.33.50and 112th.164 runners completed the marathon. There was a half marathon available too.

This is my last report as Pressand Publicity as I will be standing down at the AGM on Wednesday.Good luck to my new successor and dont forget to keep your reports and photos coming in.
